HOOVER, AL (Dec. 21, 2022) – Junior Golf Alabama (JGA) has released its partial schedule for the inaugural season of the JGA Tour which will feature a total of nine 36-hole tournaments at premier venues across Alabama and NW Florida.
“We couldn’t be more excited to announce the schedule for the JGA Tour’s inaugural season,” said Jeremy Gardner, Alabama Golf Association’s Director of Junior Golf. “Although we still have two sites to confirm to complete the schedule, it is important that juniors and parents are able to mark their calendars early for these events.”
The 2023 schedule begins with the JGA Tour Kickoff February 25-26, 2023, at Lakewood Golf Club in Point Clear, Ala. Registration for the inaugural event opens on Monday, January 9 at 8:00 a.m. via the Junior Golf Alabama website. Seven additional regular season events plus a final tournament are planned for this season.
The JGA Tour Final will be hosted by Vestavia Hills native Smylie Kaufman - a PGA TOUR winner, former LSU standout, Alabama state amateur champion and recently named on-course analyst with Golf Channel. The JGA Tour Final Presented by Smylie Kaufman will be played at Kaufman’s home club, Vestavia Country Club in November.
“Junior golf played a pivotal role for me in my development, not only as a golfer, but as a person,” said Kaufman. “Vestavia Country Club is where I grew up learning to love the game. I can’t wait to see where JGA goes, and I’m thrilled to be involved with the finale!”
